Forum member ctgreddy, the owner of a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra, decided to wage war against two GM performance juggernauts – a C5 Corvette and a Cadillac CTS-V – in some impromptu drag races.

Now that the new Mustang is finally on sale the world over, Ford has started releasing a series of videos that document the process that went into such an ambitious project.

If you told me your Mustang can do 212.9 mph, I’d be impressed. If you told me your Mustang can hit that speed in 5,280 feet, I’d involuntarily spit out whatever I’d happen to be drinking at the time. Don’t worry – I know a good dry cleaning place.

The following video has quite the assortment of cars dig racing each other on the flat land of Nebraska. Of course, I wouldn’t be posting the clip here if it didn’t feature Mustangs, too.

Correct me if I’m wrong but… I think that if you drive a Mustang, there’s a pretty good chance that you enjoy the occasional burnout. It’s a pleasure as old as rear-wheel-drive. I can understand not doing them though. They’re not exactly easy on the tires.
