Throwback Thursday: ’84 Mustang SVO

Classic, in every sense of the word and a reminder that the new 2015 Mustang with the EcoBoost engine really isn’t as groundbreaking as a lot of people think.
Sure, the new four-cylinder S550 is well deserving of all the attention it’s getting. However, let’s not forget the ’84 SVO, which also featured a four-cylinder turbo engine as highlighted in this Throwback Thursday video posted by MotorWeek.
We certainly have no desire to bring back some of the design elements like those headlight holes. Damn those nonsensical early 80s federal regulations!
But aside from that, we still find a lot to like about this past gem.
With a price tag of $16,000 back in the day, what’s not to love?
