TST One Take: New Edge Mach 1

The New Edge Mustang isn’t the most well loved Mustang of all time. Even though I personally grew up on the New Edge body style, I’m can’t say I like the car that much either. And that’s after spending a long time working for Ford and driving these cars around. The seating position always felt wrong, the shifter too narrow, and the clutch just completely odd.
However, there were a few Mustangs to come out of this era that were quite good. Obviously the Terminator Cobra, and of course the Mach 1. The Mach 1 was the first in Ford’s retro book, and when they brought back the nameplate, many buyers immediately scooped it up. Powered by a 32V 4.6L Cobra engine, the Mach 1 was a great little performance car.
On this edition of The Smoking Tire’s “One Take” series, Matt Farah gets to travel back in time to review a 2004 Mustang Mach 1. Is it a good car, or still part of that SN95 malaise that just kinda sucked? Check out the video below to find out.
