Watch This Mustang LS Blast Into the 8s

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” It may be an old saying, but here’s a pretty strong showing for why the adage continues to resonate with so many in the race world.
After running a few 9s on the dragstrip, this Garage Built Mustang LS makes a few adjustments to nearly crack the 7s in the same day, as highlighted in the Wrecks to Riches video below, posted by BigKleib34.
One of the first rebounding runs, after working through some suspension issues, comes in at 8.75 at a speed of 157 mph. But it’s the car’s run of 8.29 at 163.83 mph where you start to get the sense that this thing might really be capable of breaking into the 7s.
Even wilder, the owner says the car was still being worked on four days before the race; it was completely in pieces. The build team didn’t start the car until two days before the race.
Needless to say, we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
