Default Something Leaking

Any ideas what I got going on with my 2019 EcoBoost?

I popped the hood for the first time in many months to add some wiper fluid and noticed this corrosion looking stuff in my engine bay. The picture with my finger in it, I am pointing at the corrosion on the pipe, not at the hose.

It seems I have a leak of some kind. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Don't think there is actually anything leaking. Probably moisture from rain, washing the car and never wiping down the engine compartment after you wash the car. Moisture reacts differently with different materials and I think that's what you are seeing. Try cleaning it up and monitoring it for a while.

Ok, thanks. I appreciate the reply. I posted my question because I a few days ago I showed my neighbor and he asked a friend, who asked a friend, that knows something about Fords...LOL....and he said...

"Check the water pump. The pully could be grabbing the leaking coolant and slinging it up there."

I am obviously not a mechanic, you can tell from my question, but I did think the water pump was on the front side of the engine and most of this is on the top rear of the engine.

What do you think?

I would be surprised if it was from washing the car. The hood seals pretty good back there.

Perhaps your heater hose, which I believe runs that way, is leaking. Have you lost coolant? I haven't had an EcoBoost for a year now so don't remember everything under the hood. But the hose/pipe you point to is part of the heater hose as I recall.

If it's not wet, clean the area and see what happens.

My coolant is just above the MIN line, but I honestly do not recall where it was at when I purchased the car some months ago. I guess I should top off the fluid to the MAX line then monitor the level, that and also clean the existing mess and see if it reappears.
