Splashguards/mudflaps saved my paint from a LOT of dirt/salt/slush/crap this winter. It likes to build up on teh paint behind the rear wheels without the flaps. The only thing I don't like about the OEM flaps is that they don't cover the wheel well at all; they just stick out from the fender. Long term, I want some better protection for the rear underbody from stuff flying off the rear wheels.
