RE: Black Out Panel
Hey Hoss, How much did it run u to get it painted, I currently have the 3D Blackout Panel on my Vert, and it looks clean and seems to blend in with the Top, but I'm really debating on taking it off and painting it. Thanks

Stange Development at http://strangedevelopment.com/home.htm. It's polished aluminum, not chromed steel. Pretty light piece. They make a brace specifically for the 07 intake cover like you have. The brace bows a little more to clear your brace. My Midwest cover was able to take a standard GT brace, but it's still higher than others. I had bought a black Steeda brace at first and had to send it back since it wouldn't fit. This company just came out with a rear shock tower brace that I just bought and installed. It's good guality stuff too, but that brace only comes as a satin finish, but it's still light weight aluminum. Real easy to install too. Here is a pic of the rear brace:

Blackout panels...I'm not so sure about. The only ones I've seen in RL are on the Saleens, and they are really cheap looking. If they make them in a real glossy black, mirror type finish (looks like it on here), I might be interested. I just don't want to end up with something that looks like is on the Saleen. (sorry Steve...)

RE: Black Out Panel
Moss offers an acrylic smoked panel that fits between the taillights ,it is polished,& you can paint the inside of it black so you end up with a gloss black panel. The taillight trim pieces I have I did that with & looks good. I ended up going with a vinyl trim piecebetween the lights & with wax, looks good IMO. Not professional paint shop quality, but works for me.

TPony, no clearance problems what so ever. I did not have to remove the hood insulation. Just bolt it on and go.
Aircare84, I'm not dissing what you have, but I ordered the Moss panel first and it is really cheap compared to the 3D carbon unit. I sent it back. The hole in the middle was cut too large and slightly offcenter and it is only a single piece of smoked plastic. The 3D unit is a thick piece that fits flush between the tail lights for a much better custom look. Plus if you get your panel painted the finish will last much longer since the plastic will scratch a lot faster than paint.
Before I got a black out panel, I got tired of trying to get that back panel perfectly clean when I washed it since dirt accumulates on it since it's recessed. Now since I have a flush panel on it, I just wipe it straight off either with a rag or my california duster and I'm done. Again, I'm not dissing what you have, but the 3D Carbon piece is much better, believe me, I've seen them both.
Plus the thicker piece weighs more and now when I shut my trunk it makes a cool "thunk" sound.
The 3D costs more, but you get what you pay for.

06 Hoss,
In no way was I critizing your comments about your panel or your decision about the Moss product, everybody has their opinion. Yours looks great. I've not seen that one in person. I just personally went the cheap route, believe it was about $20.00.
Same here though on keeping it clean, everything shows up on the black panel.Glad I don't have a Black car
No harm meant.

RE: Black Out Panel
I like black-out. I got a can of flat black paint, taped it off real well and went at it. I recommend removeing the center cap, if you can figure out how, but good taping leaves no trace. I also did the same to my wing. Looks great!
