Here's pics of the new NPI Shelby GT500 Wide body kit. Not out yet but hopefully before next summer.

Last I was told that was a one off for the show car, it was because they wanted something different so they customized a GT500 from to be wide enough for the rest of the hot wheels kit. Just what I was told from a few of my wonderful sources.

No the body kit was made to be a production unit at some point. Nothing from the Hot wheels kit was really used. We used all the original Shelby Gt500 stuff.
We did originally evaluate the HW kit but the fiberglass was horrible. So bad we couldn't copy it if we wanted to ïŠ, so we just went forward in making all the tools and getting a proto ready for sema. From what were seeing the kit will probably be 2K.
We want to be weight conscious so were thinking of doing fiberglass but I have to be honest I think doing the fascias and side skirts in Urethane would be much better. It would line up better even though being heavier. One good bump and those HW side skirts would be nuked. I actually drive this car without the side skirts because its already so low to the ground. We are looking to square off the back rocker panel to make it more flush with the mustang body line but that’s about it. Were getting orders together to ship out right to distributors and most likely won't be selling it directly.
