Default Midwest Fuel Rail Covers Installed Today!

I just installed my fuel rail covers from midwest today. I had talked to a few guys before I bought them and most guys were concerned that they would cover up the valve covers. I have chrome valve covers so I was a little worried too about that. I'm happy to say that they only cover up the very top of the valve covers that were obsured by all that ugly wiring. I'm very happy with the way the mod turned out. Here's some pics for guys who might be interested. I'll probably have to post more than once to get all the pics on here since I took some during the install so you could see the brackets that are used to hold up the fuel rail covers.

How long did it take you to put these on? Was it hard to undo and reroute the wiring and hoses?

It was pretty easy. I only completely unhooked one of the hoses on the driver side and slide the cover under the others. You only have to unhook the wire loops from the valve cover bolts up top (they just slide off). I had a small problem on the passenger side where I had trouble getting the intake plenum bolts back in...they were a little hard to line up since I had to push on the fuel rail cover to line them up. That side is a little stiffer since the main wire loop over there is thicker and tougher. It was a pretty easy install overall though...anybody could do it. I just had to cover up that tangle of wires Ford left there.

Are they selling them? I was at the midwestautogear.com site and it said they would be available at the end of the year. I don't see them listed on their site, just a new product intro. So what's up, yes or no to buying a set now? If so, what will they set us back? Thanks!!

Well, they were selling them. I just looked at their site and I don't see them anywhere. A few months ago they had a email notification sign up thing going on. They sent me an email when they were ready to take orders and I signed up within a couple of days and I was number 250. It took about 3 weeks to get them. Maybe they got swamped with orders and had to stop for awhile. They were $239 with the custom redfire paint with black ribs. I think their standard colors may be a little cheaper. You might want to call them or shoot them an email to see what's up.

Thanks, I'll give them a call and see what's going on. Very nice by the way. I like the finished look it gives the engine compartment. I also like the strut tower caps on their site as well.

Thanks, yeah I think they really do make the car look more like it should. Just remember if you get the strut tower caps from them, that you can't put on a strut tower brace with those. It might not matter to you, but thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, no info for fuel rail and no link to buy the strut tower caps. The caps look kinda nice, but I'd like to be able to see what different colors would look like in my yellow engine compartment. Thinking more yellow might be too much!

You could probably get them in yellow and black...that would look cool.
