I worked for a sign company way back, and laid my stripes, good quality vinyls will last, but I have noticed red to be the main color to have a fading problem. This was over a 4yr period.Putting on anything over 10in(Dual stripes) I wouldn't try,But the F.bumper you might have to cut the vinyl and two piece it(I did).If you do try,use a mixture of joy soap and water, this will let you be able to move the vinyl around and not stick right away,if you've never laid vinyl go to a sign shop and get something called rapid tack,it's the same thing but gives you more time to position the stripes than soap and water.

I've been considering the 10" racing stripes w/ a pinstripe and also some side stripes for my car in the future, and kind of assumed that it was something best left to professionals. Does anyone have any idea how much a shop would charge to apply the vinyl racing stripes / side stripes?

You can also ask tint shops for quotes, vinyl and tint go on just about the same

If you've never done em before get a tint shop to do it. I've done a few stangs including mine twice, 8" and 10s with pin and it can be frustrating, especially at the bumpers!
