20s

RE: 20s
Yeah the ride is fine. It's a little stiffer than stock but it's not the nightmare some people would have you believe.
If I were you, I would take advice from people who actually have 20's, and not people who have no experience with them for whatever reason.

RE: 20s
Here aresomes pics, we have 20s" on both of our Vert Mustangs.
The Yellow vert is lowered (Tokico struts, Eibach pro spring UCA & LCA etc etc) Both are wearing black bullits BFG KDW2 285x30 on10x20 in the rear and BFG KDW2 255x35 on 9x20 in the front. These tires are very nice in wet conditions!! Way better than one would expect with the large foot print. Far better wet or dry traction than the stock Pirelli's ever tried to be! IMHO ones that say 20 don't hook up have never driven 20's! Will they give you the lowest possible ET? No most likely not! Can they give you better ETs than stock tires YES! The yellow car is right @ 540 HP w/ Saleen & JDM stage 2 tune. Please don't believe everyone that claims 20's slow you down! Are they thebest and quickest rims for ones car? Again NO but they are better than stock tires on BOTH of our cars even in the 1/4! Mainly because of betterTRACTION over stock tires! (if you don't know I've had this debate with others on how 20's slow you down!!) I will openly agree that there is a better dragracing combo out there BUT to say putting 20s on our cars slows then down in NOT true in every case..... (ok off my soap box and on with the pics lol)

RE: 20s
Prometheus,
Well THAT is my point exactly! (in many earlier threads)one can't have the same tires when they add the 20s SO it a combo deal (tire and rim)... Insome cases of quality rims they are lighter then the rubber that surrounds them. Throwing the whole rotational mass theory off some what. It's very hard to compare exactly apples to apples when talking 17 inch vs 20 in becasueit's hard to find 235 in 20" tires (why would one want to) or 285 in a 17 tire (that will fit!)... again real hard to compare exactly but for me the larger tire patch allows me to get MORE hp to the ground and that tire patch came by way of 20s in our case! You asked was it the tire or the rim I can say yes it was the tire AND the rim!
