Default 1st wax?

just got my car saturday night. the delivery boy was about 16 or 17. i asked him a few questions about how long to wait before i wax my car the first time, he said he wasn't sure. also probably not the best place to ask a question here but how long on the 1st oil change? 500 miles? 1000? thanks for the help.

I've heard and read different things. The truth is, there is nothing in the owners manual about it at all. If you just had it done at a body shop, then I might wait. Off the lot, though, I'd say it's OK to wax it as soon as you get it.

You can wax the car the first day you buy it!The paint is cured when it leaves the factory. The oil change thing everyone has their own opinions but whenever the manufacturer suggests. I did mine at 500 miles and then at 1800 miles and than stored it for 6 months and changed it again and after 2000 miles I changed to full synthetic Mobil one and K&N oil filters. I am switching to Motorcraft and/or Mobil one oil filters as I read they are better than K&N. Remember changing the oil filter is more important than changing the oil...so when you change the oil always change the filter....believe it or not some don't (which is retarded). I now am going 6 months or 3000 miles whichever comes first. I only put 1800 miles on the car last year and this year the odometer reads 2482 miles since May so I think I will be changing it soon! (like in 3 months). JMO J

Clay bar it 1st! Trust me, it will make a huge difference. Then get a few coats of wax on it.
I recommend Zaino products. Only available online.

You'll find 10,000,000,000 answers for when to change the oil, lol.
For me it was 500 miles, regular synthetic blend oil.

Then at 3,000 I switched to Mobil 1, every 3k.
Motorcraft filter each time.

I waxed mine within hours of getting it off the lot. No problems whatsoever. First oil change was at 2,000 miles.

Buy a clay bar kit. It's very easy to do and it gets out imperfections like that. If it's something that the clay won't take out, get a polishing compound. It will take car of stuff like that and also minor scratches and swirl marks.

im actually a detail manager at a new car dealership there is nothing wrong when waxing your car when you get it i have all my guys wax the new cars that get delivered to customers and if you do claybar the car make sure very important that you wax it otherwise but cleaner wax and elbow grease will get them water spots out no problem

i clay barred it with no luck. they arent water spots, i am not sure what it is. it was on the car when i bought it last week, car was brand new. I thot it was just from that white plastic stuff they put on it when they are shipped but goo gone or clay bar wont get it off.
