Dual LCD Screen
Alright I know I've seen Mustangs that have In-Dash LCD screens, the one I have is a Dual XDVD 8281 and I'm looking to have it installed or, depending on the difficulty of it, doing it myself. Best Buy was saying something about $150 depending on what wires I need.I have a couple of questions I'm hoping can be answered.
1. Does anyone have this head unit or a similar one installed, if so how much was it to have it done or did you do it yourself?
2. Do you know what wires and everything I need to install it (besides the dash kit obviously)
3. And does anyone know how to remove the stock radio?
I apologize for this being a question about the stereo and nothing as interesting as performance mods but anything would help. Thanks!

Very easy to install, but I wouldn't waste your money on Dual brand, it is the entry level system and I haven't heard anything good about it. Save up a couple hundred bucks more and go with a Pioneer, eclipse of Alpine. Unless you know the installer at Best buy I wouldn't let them touch your car. Had 2 bad experiences personally and have heard many more.
Yeah I've been told that the system itself isn't bad but the motor in it isn't very reliable. But I got it for half price from someone that works at Best Buy because they were getting rid of their entire system and my buddy bought the Sub and Amp and I bought the head unit, which is only a couple months old, it was manufactured in March of this year. Do I just need the Mustang wiring harness and the antenna adaptor and then I can do it myself? I appreciate the help.
I just pulled a Pioneer indash DVD with a 7" screen out of my Mustang before I sold it. It's very easy. You need the wiring harness, which you can get at best buy, and dash kit. I didn't need the attenna adapter for mine but you may. to get to the stereo out you need to open your console in the back there are two phillips head screws take those out pull the emergency brake up as far as you can and from the back gently pull the top half of the console off. Once that is removed thereare 2 coverson each of the radio which are attached with clips simply pulls those toward you and remove them. You then remove the 6 screws holding the heat and other control panelin place, once the screws are removed you need to unplug the wiring harness for the heat controls and the top harness for hazards traction control etc. Once that is done there are 4 small bolts holding the radio in place unbolt those and the stereo will fall out. The back has 2 plugs that need to be removed and the antenna. Do a search on this site and you will find detailed instructions with pics of the entire process.
I'm actually getting my dvd monitor installed as I sit here typing this from my phone... cost me 50 bucks from a stereo shop. first quote was 115 and I told them they were crazy and told them I wouldn't pay more than 50. it will only take them 30 min or so.
