Default Window Tinting

Does anyone know for sure if the felts on the inside windows do have to be installed to prevent the window tint from scratching?

Most poeple should do it. Mine was installed before I knew about it and they have a few scratches but not bad. I may go back and add moleskin.

Short answer, you should probably do it.

Just had mine done today, and the shop i went to installed it for free and even took it out and showed me where the felt should be and where they were gonna put it. They said most new cars are missing that, especially the stangs, and that they wont install tint without it. They tint the local ford dealer so they know they're **** pretty well.

I got the felt installed and still had issues with scratching, finding a good tint place is difficult !!!

Get the felt. It's cheap insurance. A lot of installers won't honor warranty for scratches if you don't have it. You should ask before you get it installed, you'd be surprised. I guess to many guys getting burned having to fix scratched tint that wasn't thier fault.

I wish I would have known about the mole skin before I have mine tinted. Had my stang professional tinted and they did an excellent job but now I have some pretty good scratches on the driver side window (gets used the most). I ordered/have the mole skins now but haven't installed them yet. Will probably do it when I get around to getting the driver side window re-done. The install looks pretty easy. I really wish the guy that did the tintiong would have warned me ahead of time, I would have gotten the mole skins right away.

Do it. Their cheap and easy!

You should def. have the moleskin put in with the new tint. My cousin didnt do it with his tint on his 06 stang and it pretty much shredded up his tint...looks nasty. I had moleskin intalled and I have 5% tint and I haven't had any scratching issues so far.
