HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN ILLINOIS?
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Illinois, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.
• Windshield
Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
• FrontSideWindows
No tint can be applied legally to this window.
• BackSideWindows
Any darkness can be used.
• RearWindow
Any darkness can be used

Enforcement is something that is local, some do, some dont, in my area they dony enforce it too bad, as long as its not limo tint. Install prices also vary widely based on how many shops there are/how many good shops there are in your area.
I paid 230$ for tint all around, excellent install with 3 year warranty.That is a lot, butthis guy is the best and there arent many reliable places around here except him.
Call up a few places, ask them how much they charge, how many mustangs they have done, and if theyknow about the tint scratching issue with them. I'd install the moleskin yourself. Butif the installer sounds knowledgeable and will back his work with a warranty, those are good signs.

Looks great and I have 5% on mine and would not change it for anything as it is perfect with the deep balck car!

thanks for all the positive words
the price was $130 installed. The guy that does it for my friend's customizing shop did it for me "off-hours" (saturday) at his house, so I got a considerable discount. I think normal price is about $180+$20 for the 5%.
