To avoid scratches and blemishes, I have kept the clear thin plastic (what was left before the Ford Dealership removed most of it) that was adhered to the steering wheel covers and scuff name plates. However, after 3 years it is starting to peel off after use. Does anyone know what this protective layer is called? I would like to buy more of this sticky clear thin plastic, IF POSSIBLE, to place over atop the 3 silver steering wheel covers and "MUSTANG" scuff plates. I just want to protect high-traffic/highly usedareas. It's similar to when you purchase a new electronics item and the manufacturer places a clear piece of plastic over the lcd screens to prevent scratches. I know this sounds crazy. But, if anyone knows what this is called other than clear plastic and if it's able to be purchased...thanks.

But then again i still have the air bag tag on my glove box still attached.[&:]

haha yeah ive had mine for a month, there are tags all over the car... just dont want to remove them yet, still a brand new car in my eyes

damn - 3 years and you still got the plastic on? Do you have those plastic covers onyour sofa too? Good luck finding that plastic stuff - maybe you could try some of that spay on clear bra stuff, just mask off the parts you don't want "protected".

mine is a 2005 model purchased in June 2004 and i still have the plastic covers on the aluminum door sill scuff plates.

That's what I thought of when reading this thread. Take them off, drive the car, and just keep it clean.... It's too bad after owning the car for 3 years, you don't know how good that stuff underneath the protective plastic looks..... [sm=grin.gif]
