Default Sound System

So when I bought the stang, I got it all stock to make my own mods (not doin to bad.. almost 4gs in it..)..
recently I noticed my stock speaker (not the shaker) on the driver's side was rattling, like it was blown (?). Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone have recommendations for replacing them (with a budget..)?
Much love.

I have a 06 GT and I am experiencing the same thing. Rattling from the driver side door when the stereo is turned up.I also thought the speaker was blown until I took it apart and saw no damage to the speaker. I have a different head unit though. A pioneer P6800 DVD. The unit is awsome with flip out face and lots of options. I think it added another 500 watts the the stock GT system bringing it up to 1000 I believe. Anybody know a remedy to the rattling!

Is it worth it to replace the speaker inside the door? (I have no idea how..)
I'd be interested in shaker 500 speakers (functional only.. no broken ones..) if someone has em.
any sound freaks that can help me?

If you buy the stuff from Circuit City they will install it for free.

O word? Nice. Thanks bro... Probly the cost for subs is higher there tho..
Any recommendations for a "budgeted" setup (amp, sub..brand names).
Thanks,

Sometimes that rattle in the door is caused by the cover for the screws behind the door pull. I had the same problem, until I put some Dynamat descreetly behind it. Now I need to fix the trunk latch cover. It has worked itself loose, and willl not tighten back down.

This is the setup I have in my car. It is accoustically ballanced and clear. I used Crutchfield for pricing, but you can find these things cheaper elsewhere.

2 sets of Infinity Reference 6X8/5X7 2 ways model 6822cf from crutchfield @ $100 per pair. Crutchfield says that they do not fit in the front door, but they fit fine in mine.
1 Infintiy Basslink amplified sub. It has a 200w amp coupled with a 10" sub. for $299 from Crutchfield.
1 Pioneer 4 channel amp with 75W per channel RMS to run the door and rear deck speakers. Crutchfield does not sell this one, but offer a simular one made by Kenwood for $249.
My head unit is a Pioneer P-4900 DVD. If you do not want a DVD player in the dash. Choose a good head unit that has at least Front/ Rear/ Subwoofer preamp outputs. I am partial to Pioneer. I like their DEH-P4900iB for just a CD player head unit for $179.
Grand total $975

What is nice about this set up, is that all the speakers are matched to each other. This makes for crisp clear highs, and bass fill. I you want "bump and thump", replace the sub with a seperate box with 12" subs and a seperate amp. If you go for fill, use the sub I listed.

If you want to do it a piece at a time, I suggest doing it in this order: Head Unit, Speakers, Amp, then sub system.

BTW Fred Malibu - nice color!

I hope this helps.

Mark

Thanks! that setup sounds great! if only i hadnt spent all my money on appearance mods.. lol.

Soo this Dynamat stuff.. I'm not familiar with it. any pics or instructions?

That little rattle sounds like its right behind the door lock.. or somewhere close, but it def rattles most when the speakers are on and only when the door is closed..

Thanks for your help so far.
