Illegal or Legal?

Illegal or Legal?
I wanted to order the CDC classic chin spoiler, the shorty billet antena, clear corners, and blacked out tail lights. The only question I had was whether it is legal to put those black covers on the tail lights and the clear covers on the corners. Do any of you with either of these get any kind of crap for em? Are they illegal or legal? or does it depend on the state?

RE: Illegal or Legal?
I have the clear corners...and have had nothing said to me or anything...
I think this is going to be the least of your worries. It really comes down to the officer if you get pulled over. Clear corners are very common nowadays and i still have yet to hear about anyone getting a ticket from it...

as my dad always said, any cop can pull you over at any given time for anything he wants to. if a cop wants to jerk you around man, he will. i know you cant have license plate covers anymore, but if you can see your brake lights, i dont see why you cant have them

Clear corners should not be a problem, after all, we do have imports that come with them anyway. As for the black out tail lights, that would depend on your state's motor vechile law..which you could probably check on line...

RE: Illegal or Legal?
I asked a cop personally if the blacked out taillights were illegal and he said no as long as you can see them when you brake...I was in Texas at the time...Im in California and have been in front of many, many cops and none have pulled me over...trust me Cali is the biggest ***** state in the country, if you are going to get pulled over for anything car-related, it will happen here

Just be advised, your taillights have reflectors on them as well.......this is the gray area of this mod. The reason for them, is for when you're parkedin a dark area, an oncomming cars lights will reflect off your taillights, and the driver will see your car. If your tint covers that reflective area, that could be a problem.

RE: Illegal or Legal?
Here in NJ, blacked out tail lights are absolutely illegal. It falls under modifying a vehicle so that it wouldn't pass inspection. Basically, if you brought a car to a STATE inspection facility (the ones the law are referencing) with blacked out tail/head lights, you SHOULD (might not, but should) fail inspection because you are partially blocking out the light or something of the sort. A buddy of mine failed for having a brushguard OVER his tail lights that didn't even block them for this specific reason. I don't agree with this law, but it is what it is, at least in NJ. With this said, most cops won't hassel you for having partially blacked out tail lights, as long as you can still see some red when they aren't lit.
