Tinted Glass Advice
I want to get the windows tinted mildly, but want something that doesn't wear off or look bad in a short time....any advice from those of you that have done it. Either what TO do, or what NOT to do will be helpful, thanks
Go to a good shop and get 35% tint all the way around. It's light enough to see through a little and dark enough to look damn good. Alot of people will suggest you get moleskin on the weather stripping to keep from getting scratches in the tint on the door windows, I didn't and I do have a few little grooves that I can see on the inside of the car but you can't see it on the outside and it doesn't bother me.
I always get darker tint (running 15% now) and I love it. I don't really have that hard of a time at night. If it's really dark, sometimes I may open then window before I make a turn onto a busy road.
i got 10% all around except the windshield, installed for $150, no moleskin, no scratches, a perfect job. it is a little difficult seeing at night thru the windows but not enough for me to want to change it. with a black stang the darker the better.
08's don't have the problem, I know early 07's do but I don't know one late ones. I didn't have moleskin on for most of a year and I have a few little scratches but nothing you can see form the outside.
Having said that, I now have moleskin on them. Bought it for $5 or so from here:

I agree with what you said but I have 5% tint and it shows on the inside as well. I did buy the moleskin and should have installed it from the get go but didn't and will get it redone this spring by the installer for free. Its not the scratches but the couple of bubbles that I pointed out that were not gone after the tint dried. Tint is easy on these cars but get the moleskin to be safe. J

Moleskin like everyone said and watch doing the windshield. Mine still has bubbles from where that black matte stuff is around your rearview mirror. I read that you were suppose to sand it before you tint over it.
I got 5 percent to the back three windows. Then got 50 percent to the front windows. Since the back was dark, and I have black interior, 50 percent still looked good and you could see out the window.
Make sure you get 3M window tint. It holds up.
