Default 20's a bad idea?

my next purchase will be to change out the rims on my 08 GT. Wanting to get any feedback on a set of 20's to fill those big wells. Or should I just go with some 18 X 9's? Let me know on handeling issues mostly, did you lose anything noticably on the switch. Any high speed tremors or cornering problems?

thanks

i can feel the road better in the 20's, but on public roads you can feel the potholes more too. but i think the bling is worth it.

A lot of people stay away from 20s because of the weight but I love mine. I have a convertible and sound system in the trunk so I'm not worried about that extra weight. Show before Gofor me.

I have the 20" Foose's on mine at the moment and love them. My first Mustang had 18's with the high profile and the ride was very smooth. My second came with the 20's and a low profile tire and the ride was noticably rougher than the 18's, but my 3rd came with the 20" Foose's and high profile Toyo's and the ride is as smooth as with the 18's and it handles great rain ro shine. So as long as you don't mind the extra weight from my experience the 20's are just fine.

yeah go 20s and if the ride bothers you, upgrade to Tokico D-Spec ajustable shocks. Should be nice and smooth after that.

When Ihad 18's; 255's up front and 285's out back, it felt like I was dragging a boat anchor. Handling was sooo much better, but I lost acceleration.

Car feels and is slower once you switch. Really feels sluggish. But looks good and handles fine.

I used to have 20s on my V6, but after bending two of the rims and completley destroying one rim (Low profile) I went to 18" rims and like it WAYYYYY better.

I love my 20's. If you go that route, make sure you buy the tallest tire possible that will still fit. That will minimize the chance of bending a rim and will look much better than the low-profile tires. Upgrading the shocks/struts to some Tokicos will also make the ride much more comfortable.

Go with 19 inch rims. Go with a premier import brand like Work or Volks.Might be pricey but you get what you pay for. Sad to say but domestic wheels are heavy and just plan ugly.
