GT Bumper woes
Hey everyone, just thought I'd give out a word to advice to fellow Stang owners who wanted to upgrade to a GT bumper for dual exhaust purposes.
LOOK EARLY AND LOOK OFTEN
I've had plans to add the FRPPexhaust for a little over a month, I was just waiting on the extra income from the sale of a Z28 I used to have. Now that it's sold, I'm extremely eager to start modding, starting with getting a GT takeoff bumper in Redfire Metallic. This apparently is a very rare find, as I've contacted many places and been met with "Sorry, we don't have that color in stock." I may wind up going with a bumper in primer and taking it to a body shop to be painted, but I'd prefer the seemingly less expensive takeoff route.
Just a word to the wise, ladies and gents.

RE: GT Bumper woes
You think redfire is hard to get parts for? Try Windveil blue. You should do what I did... I had the EXACT same issue and just bought a scratched silver rear bumper from newtakeoff.com, they reduced it to $75 bucks, but the shipping is $110 so it cost me $185 for a silver takeoff bumper. Then I took it to my local dealership I bought my car from and they painted it to match my car for $250. I paid a little extra and had them install it and straight up my FRPP exhaust to match and it looks brand new and perfect.
I would suggest doing the same thing because a new primered bumper is still more expensive.

Why not just notch your stoock bumper... save the $$$$

Oddysey I may wind up going that route. It's irritating that this is the only thing separating me from the sweet sounds of a FRPP dual exhaust.
Thanks for the links Mr. L but there are still no Redfires so I'm going to just order a different color. My original post was just to blow off some steam.
Thanks.
