clay bar question
So after reading about the lanka paint chip repair and seeing everyone's nice clean detailed pictures I figured today was a good day to go to Autozone and pick up a claybar kit. I've never used a claybar before and I was curious how must friction there should be while appling the claybar. Should I have enough detailing mist that it is smooth or should there be some mild to moderate friction? Thanks all, either way my paint is much smoother and I can't wait until it stops raining to finish the entire car.

I've used the clay bar kit and I can tell you there should be no friction. You should spray the lubricant on and glide the clay bar over the paint. When you have friction you will be creating scratches. When done correctly, your paint will be as smooth as a baby's bottom.
I've used the McGuire's kit. It came with 2 clay bars, cleaner wax, spray lubricant and a giant microfiber towel. It was only $15 at WalMart. I would suggest you spray and glide, respray and glide. The lubricant gets absorbed by the clay so keep that spray handy.
