How much to paint GT500 spoiler? Is $375 high?
A body shop just quoted me $375 to paint an OEM GT500 rear spoiler. This seemed high to me, does anyone agree? But he said this is the number the computer gave him when he plugged in "2007 Ford GT500 rear spoiler".
If you did this mod, how much did it cost to paint? I was thinking it would be about $200.
(By the way, I know I could have purchased the pre-painted ones off Ebay, but I had a gift certificate and would prefer the OEM spoiler that uses all four screws.)

Even though I did buy mine off Ebay and it was painted for $130, I think even $200 is high. I would guess 2 hours prep and paint at a shop rate of $75 per hour, $150 would seem reasonable.

I'm not too sure about the rear spoiler but...The dealership painted my side louvers for 75$. Just for comparison purposes...and that was the dealership; they seem to overprice everything. $375 sounds like a hell of a lot.

Personally, I think the question is, is this a good quality, reputable shop that
you have confidence will produce exceptional results the first time? Yes, you can
bargain shop, but the fact of the matter is that when you're looking for paint
work, I'd be less concerned about absolute $$ and more about the work. Nothing
stinks more than having to have something done twice.
After my striping experience, I'm going to be a lot more careful in the future by
reviewing the work prior to making an investment...

The computer told him... My @ss.
People will come up with all kinds of BS to rob you.
Run my friend, go to another shop. Don't pay more then $200 anywhere.

You also hafta look at the time of year and how busy the shop is. Work that a shop will to for time and materials in the winter, they will get a premium for this time of year because EVERYONE and their monther is trying to get their cars ready for shows..

I just had my OEM GT500 wing, CDC Classic chin and headlight splitters painted at a shop popular with the local Mustang crowd and I paid $200 including tax.
