Default HID Conversion or Bulbs?

To get HID lighting do you have to buy the entire conversion kit or can you pick up the bulbs and switch em out?

You will need a conversion kit to get HID.

They make bulbs that simulate the white/white-blue color temperature of HID lights, but they are still regular bulbs.

I see in ur sig you have the ambient lighting. Was it worth the upgrade? I'm thinking about ordering the parts and getting it installed.

Once you run HIDs, you will never want regular headlights again. I bought the bi-xenon bulbs, so I get high beam and low beam HID. I love it when people flash their lights at me thinking I got my high beams on, and then I hit them with the real-deal. The funny part is, you can actually see the look on their faces.

The bulbs are crap. The light up whiter than the regular ones, but aren't much brighter. If you go that route, buy good bulbs. Those cheap bulbs burn out quickly. I wouldn't even mess with it. Save your $, and get an HID kit.

I'm with 5sp07gt, I have the kit from stangmods and it really works well. Like mentioned, awesome customer service. It did take some thought as to where the wiring went, though.

Hey guys, Im checking out their site.
Can you tell me the difference between the single and dual beam? single = normal "low" beam only? dual = low and high? also if u get the single, can u no longer have high beams at all?

I just wanted to be clear... I definately want xenons had them inthe past and hated everything without them since...

Duals incorporate low and high beams in a single bulb.

Retro-Soultions has an AWESOME kit, I was originally gonna go with a10K setup but, settled for an 8k due to availibility and I'm glad I did. It was WAYY better than I thought it was gonna be. Installation is a snap...I'll never go back to stock bulbs or anything other than HIDs again...

BTW about $100 less than Stangmods

What kit did you end up going with from Retro? There site isn't the greatest from a web design POV.
