Default Stripe Paint Fade?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and had a question about the stripe decal kits. I'd like to get the bumper to bumper super stripe kit in red for my black 06 GT, to match the interior. My only dilemma is on the resale of the car. Eventually I'm gonna wanna sell it and jump on a 2010 or 11 mustang. If I put the stripes on my car now, in 2-3 years time, will the paint underneath stay darker then the paint not covered by the stripes. Or does the decal kit somehow allow the sun to fade the underside of the stripes too? Does anyone have any experience with this.. any help would be really appreciated.

-Thanks

If your car sits out in the hot sun for a few years, my guess is that it will fade some, Perhaps it will look like ghost stripes and that would be way cool.

Well I had gray decal stripes on my black GT for a year, and yes it was parked in the sun. Now I have the same color only I had it painted on. There was a very slight color difference when I removed the stripes, barely noticed.

Either way polish should fix any problem you might face in the future. Just have your car polished before you sell it and you'll be ok. Awell donepolish job should makeyour body paintas good as new.
Good luck.

Cool thanks for the input guys. I'll probalby just steer way from the stripes for now. Most of the mods I do to the car I like to be reversible. I think im holding this stang for another 3 years or so. If I didn't have such a tight budget all the time I'd probably not feel that way. 06 Legend that decal or paint job is just friggin bad ***.
