Default Keyless Entry Keypad in Gas Door & River Pics

Welp, i finally got it installed. The Ford OEM remote Keyless entry Keypad came with a black cover, and a primer cover, so i painted the primered one Dark Candy Apple Red (JV) 4 coats of color and 6 coats of clearcoat to match my baby, and finally installed it this morning.

man, that thing looks sweet, i may just have to drive around with my Gas Door open..

I will stick with my $0.50 reed switch and $1 magnet set-up.
But to each his own. How often can one actually need to use
one of those things to warrant the purchase price or goofy installation.
The numbers read sideways. You gotta lean over sideways to read them?

i have no idea what you're talking about with your reed switch & magnet..

well, actually, we use them all the time on my wife's expedition.. leave the keys in the vehicle, don't have to pack them around.. and the boys remember the codes, so they don't have to scratch anything when they forget something and have to go back and get it.. or when the keys accidently get locked inside ? if i have to explain it, you won't understand obviously..

goofy installation ? and you can't be serious about leaning over sideways ?

i can't believe you wasted your time being an ****...

I was thinking of getting this as a backup. I'm in and out of my trunk a few times a day getting my duty bag out. I few times I've gotten close to closing the trunk w/ my keys sitting inside and the doors locked but so far I've always looked down at the last minute.
What did it run you and do you have a part# handy?

I ended up getting mine off e-bay from this guy here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OEM-F...spagenameZWDVW

for 89$ inc. shipping Part Number: 7L2Z-14A626-BA

and yeah, after you enter your code, just hit the 3/4 button to unlock all doors or 5/6 button to pop the trunk... and the 7/8 & 9/0 at the same time to lock everything.

Reed switch inside rubber window trim.
Magnet affixed anywhere for storage.
Need in, place magnet over rubber
window trim where reed switch is
placed, mimics door unlock switch.
Some of us dont have $90 to drop
on silly mods. Mother is the nature
of invention, or something like that.
Maybe try resizing your pics and
using the return key once in a while....
Cuz this scrolling back and forth is the shizzile

It's a cool feature but I don't see the point. I might be wrong but I thought you couldn't lock your keys inside an S197? I know you have to have the key physically in the car to start the engine, and I think if the key is in the car the doors can't lock.

I would test it myself but I had to override this feature when I got my alarm.

Either way, no way in hell would I leave my keys in the car. It just makes it that much easier for someone to steal.
