I was seeing all the power and ground I needed in the form of a
wiring harness connector. I dont see any OEM temp sensor wiring.
Maybe the OEM Ford Electrochromatic does not display temps.
How about the back-up wire to disable the auto dimming feature
while you are backing up like the OEM Ford Electrochromatic mirrors
have? I have not pulled the dome light trim to see whats actually
there. I was hoping one of yous guys with the mirror already installed
could shed some light on the subject. Seems you ran wires for power
and ground when it was not needed?
I am looking for C919 in the overhead console area that has
start + run 12V on Pin 1 (violet) and ground on Pin 6 (black).
I cant seem to find it in the online wiring diagrams but have seen
it in my printed ones.

db, I don't know if I read you right, but our cars don't have a temp sensor wiring since we don't have that feature (on 05/06 anyways).
I ran a wire to the fuse box to get the hot from the ignition.
The dome light isn't a constant "on" when driving, so I didn't wanna tap in that power source.

If it's any help... I remember reading on the web about these mirrors, on how to hook them up the easiest way possible.
The mirror I have is a GENTEX177 (pretty much all are) and when I googled the name, it had the infos I needed.
It has a 7 wire connector.Three are auto dim cancel feature related.
I only used 4 wires: black and white does the power and ground, and green and brown does the temp sensor.

Sorry to not be of more help as my memory is fading...
I did that mod the second week from owning the car lol.

I pulled my console down and C919 is indeed there with ignition
power, ground and back-up inhibit wire. You are right about the dome light power being constantly 'on'. The bulbs are grounded anyways to make them
illuminate. I guess I just need to do my own investigating instead of
getting my wiring info from the forum.

Try this...http://www.yotatech.com/f126/gen-3-a...nstall-134748/ - 65k -

It's an installation of that mirror on a Toyota truck but it should give you an idea.
Not a lot of folks have done this on a Stang, so I don't think that there is a lot of write ups with pics.

I agree.

I've done almost all the mods on my car before I joined the Forums...
So, a lot of stuff didn't get documented with pictures.
If it was now, I'd do a nice thread on this.
I just don't wanna take everything apart lol.

I installed one of these last year. Nice unit, looks right in the car.

I got a new battery a few weeks ago and lost my garage door programming. I tried to re-do it by holding down 1 and 3, per the instructions, but I just couldn't get the light to blink. Does anyone know of a different way to program these things?

Thanks.
