Default Changing Dash Lighting

Hey guys,

Im a new Mustang owner and just trying to fit it with a few aesthetic pieces that make me feel better about life! I recently replaced the Shakr500 head unit with a new Pioneer head unit. The Pioneer has a lot of blue lighting and my car is blue.

I was wondering if there is any way to change the color of the dash lights when the lights are on. Not sure if I am explaining this right, Im referring to the A/C and TCS switches which have a green light when the lights are on.

For a little more info if needed, I have an '06 Pony which had a Shaker500 head unit in it prior to my modification. Any info would be awesome thanks guys!

I have seen many threads over the years about changing the leds in instrument panel devices to change color or intensity and they are all alot of work. The most practical way to solve you problem is to install a Ford OEM six guage cluster that has the MyColor feature in it. It is an option on our V6's so it is already wired for it. The hard part is locating one which I have not been able to do so far. It will also involve getting the switch cluster for your dash and taking it tio the dealer so they can transfer the miles expended from you old 4 guage cluster to the 6 guage cluster.

actually you order the cluster with the correct miles one and they just flash the module for the other info. we have a few dealers that have helped guys out with this. some have actually got the units from ebay and had success with the install without the flash, that is if the car it came off of had the same specs. also not all are wired for the swap. you need to pull the blank cover off and check to see if the plug for the switch is plugged into the back of it. then you are ok. just take a small flat screw driver and a piece of cloth to protect the console and from one side just pop it out. some of the early cars without traction control or anti lock did not have the wires.

Upgrading to the Interior Upgrade instrument cluster will allow you to adjust the dash cluster to any color you wish. However, this does nothing for all the other green lights in the car (window switches, ABS, TCS, etc) as you stated before you wish to change. I am not aware of any way of getting these to another color.
