Just picked up the Mustang from the painter
A couple of Fridays ago my car was rear ended on the highway in the construction zone. So I picked up a black GT take off bumper (saving a couple of hundred on the repair), replaced it myself, and then had the body shop paint the stripes on the front and rear bumpers. The front bumper vinyl stripe was getting beat up on the highway and I was going to have to replace it soon, and I never liked the big black opening for the licnense plate frame on the front and the rear license plate area.
I picked up the Mustang with the newly painted stripes just a little while ago, I think it looks pretty good. No more big black spots for the license plate frames now.
Next up will be a new hood and then painting the rest of the stripes. I want to get the new "bullitt" hood from MRT to replace the stock hood. Noticed that the stock hood is starting to bubble around the edges when I was detailing it this summer so no reason to paint a hood I will be replacing.

Nice! I like it a lot! Good idea putting the bumper on yourself. I bet it saved you a pretty penny.
I just got mine painted and I'm picking it up from the shop today!
I pray mine turns out as good looking as yours

Thanks Raginig - post up pictures of yours when you get it back.
Doing the GT take off and install saved me quite a bit. The replacement bumper was going to be $265, and then 3.5 hours of prep and paint, and then cut it for my dual exhaust. I picked up the GT take off already painted black for $150, installed it myself, and had enough from the guy who hit me to get the painting done with some left over for the rest of the work that is coming (new hood and then removing the vinyl and painting the rest of the stripes)

I agree 4litrev6 - I've been thinking about getting the CDC chin so it provides some balance. I don't want the GT front bumper because I like the Pony grill better, so chin spoiler is going to have to go on. I also am going to replace the rocker panels with the GT painted ones.
