Default GOOD QUESTION

I am looking for an aftermarket hood. The ones that I am considering are functional in different ways. Heat extraction or cold air induction.

For the sake of performance, which do you think is better? Bringing cold air into the engine bay, or venting heat.

Keep in mind that I am not looking for more horsepower. I just wanna know what you guys think.

Thanks!

This has been discussed a few times and the truth is you won't really see any gains from either in the every day world. And you wont gain and hp from either hood the only positive thing that can come out of it is the fact that you wont lose as much power due to heatsoak. If I were you I would get a hood based on what you think looks better because that's what is going to matter the most.

Side note: How are the magnaflow high flow cats working out for you? Did you notice a slight power gain? Did it improve the tone of your car any? I was looking to replace the stock cats too.

Thanks

When I got my hood Cervinis said there is a small hp gain from about 30-70 mph. I got the ram air kit to go with it though but it's not very noticeable. I agree with 07redMustang, get something that you think looks good.

But to give you a straight answer I'd say go with cold air in.

i think bringing more cold air in would keep the engine cool and bring in fresh air as well.
