Default New Owner :) Any suggestions about appearance mods??

[Sorry, this should go in the V-6 section. Don't know how to move it.]

Hey, I just got my very first Mustang! It's a slightly used 2008 silver V-6 convertible with a black top. I was going to buy later in the year but the dealer got just crazy with the price. I had no choice

I'd like to keep the design clean and simple, but I think that it might look a little plain as it is. I'm thinking some simple changes like a black-out panel on the trunk lid, silver color-keyed mirrors, and black mud flaps in the rear. Any ideas from you guys?

Sweet looking ride and welcome to the forum.

The list is huge. A lot will depend on how much you want to spend since this stuff isn't cheap. Also, are you considering any performance mods? I know the guys in the V6 forums are as hot on performance mods as those of us in the V8 forums.

Rather than list a ton of stuff, I recommend you use the search feature and also look at peoples sigs to see what mods we all have. There are a lot of sponsor links here and you can browse their stock. Most list by interior, exterior, etc.. The choices are endless.

You mentioned blackout panels so here's mine from SHR (Silver Horse Racing):

Thanks for the quick reply! You've got a sweet ride yourself. I'm trying to keep the appearance mods simple. I like the clean lines of the basic body shape and don't want to mess with it. I'd like to add a bit more black to the body just to break up the monochrome silver.

I will do a performance upgrade pretty soon. I will probably do the CAI and tune. My dealer gave me a brochure today about aftermarket upgrades. The brochure said that Ford now won't void the engine warranty on CAI and tune if the dealer installs it. I asked the guys in the service department about that but they had no clue. They say that Ford is always putting stuff like that in print without telling them. I'll check with another dealer to see if they can do it. I'd do it myself but I really don't want to void my warranty.

I saw your thread on the CAI issue. Bullcrap. Go to www.brenspeed.com or Bama's website and look at their CAI & tune combos. My dealer has done warranty work and commented on the cool cold air intake. He couldn't care less. Don't sweat the warranty thing. This car's way too much fun to wait.

There are a lot of cool visual mods. I added the blackout panel about the same time I did the sequential tailights. But with all the louver and side scoop stuff, the thing that really makes the Stang look tough is wider rubber.

Enjoy but research first.
