Yes IL requires a front plate... I live in Chicago and it sucks cause it looks terrible with the front plate!

I live in a state that requests you use both plates too. They also request you drive a max of 65 mph, not break traction, not drive aggressive, not race, not get laid in your car, etc. etc. etc. OMG now Im worried - what if they nail me w/o a front plate - I'm so f n screwed!
Not funny. I have had like 15 parking tickets cause of this stupid a$$ law

My condolences dudes, didnt know people actually got big $$ tickets for the plate thing. Like I said, aint had mine on any of 3 vehicles goin back 7 or 8 years now. My Bronco has a front plate but it says "USA still # 1".

I did get pulled over in CT for license plate issues once in my 1967 stang while visitin my bro. Cop took my license n reg, came back with a ticket all made out - defacing state property. Said I had yellow paint on my plate. Im like what? I got out and walked back to look at it with him. I said thats wheat, not yellow paint. Cop is like what? I said its a KANSAS plate with a picture of wheat on it - not a CT plate! He said get in your car and dont ever let me see you round here again... True story.

Cops just want to be ******** when they want to. Especially in NY and when they need to fill their quotas.

Ever wonder why only the rear license plate has to be illuminated and not the front?

Because they don't actually give a rat's *** about the front and just want another excuse to suck more money out of you and make your day a little bit more miserable? Sounds pretty spot on to me.

It kinda depends on your local 'law enforcement', too. Some areas are much more strict about where and how front plates are mounted. Locally it's an issue for [f'ing] toll roads and them taking pictures of toll violators. So they try to get everyone to put on their fronts.

Ok though back to the original post: YES ... I run my plates a little higher-up but still right up front. I mde a couple of brackets, mounting them into the existing holes; the brackets move the plate a little more out but up enough so the plate does not block the bottom opening. Sorry, no pics, but ou might be able to see it in my sig.

A lot of others around here mount the plate inside their windshield.
If I put a different facia up front, it wont get a plate in it, though.

Thanks for answering my question about IL. requirement for front plate. I'll learn to live with it although, it looks ugly. Maybe next year I'll go with a vanity plate with a color scheme that matches better.

It looks like you put it in the middle of the bumper? Was that difficult? All the advertising pics I see show it on the side?

I'm curious because I'm thinking about getting that same one.

I just transferred the title for my Stang from KY (no front plate) to IL and I'm seriously considering the Ninosport remote controlled model. I can see it now...

officer: "Sir, did you know that you have no front plate?"
me, after pressing the remote: "I'm sorry officer but you must be mistaken..."

Thats what i am going to try and do, actually saw your car at the austin cruise. I went back and looked but I did not have a real close up of the front of your car. Maybe I will check some of the other post of pics.
