mlcry,
Where did you get the 281 high performance logo on the plenum extension?

Never mind...I see your previous post.

I have the extension as well but haven't put anything on it. I like yours a lot.

I just got this extension in the mail and after reading the instructions...I'm not sure how to install it. I'm wondering if I incorrectly installed the plenum cover.

If you look straight on at the plenum cover (not the extension cover), the bolt and washers are behind the cover....not on the outside of the cover. After looking at the plenum cover extension, it looks like the bolt and washers should be on the outside of the plenum cover.

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

Correct. They are normally on the outside. At least that's the way mine worked.

Looks like I have a different bolt and washer setup. Here is a pic of mine.

The bolt/nut is in the middle of the thread, very much like c and d in this picture (all tho this is not a bolt).

The instructions that came with the plenum cover extension pretty much suck. Wish they had some pictures of the installation.

Update: I just talked with Calponycars.....I need correct (smaller) ratchet with extension that will go through the small cuts in the front part of the plenum cover extension. Also, it appears I may need to clip off the "thread" part up to the bolt....otherwise I won't be able to get a socket round the bolt.

Sorry. I'm old and forgetful. You have an 06 like me. I did order a set of replacement bolts from Ford that comes standard on 07's. There is an "inner nut" that helps hold the plenum end still. You could probably gerry rig something just as functional but I think the "kit" was only like $8.

Thanks Tracedaddy, I'm going to talk with the local Ford dealership about ordering the replacement bolt kit. That will be easier.
