So, there are many dash kits out there for our 197s. Are all of the kits the same and just resold by many on ebay, online stores, etc or are there truely differences in the kits? If so, which kits are of better quality, fitment and looks?

most of the kits on ebay are the same as in the stores, they are less, normally. The typical dash kit from ebay is a stick on, which is ok if you arent looking for the top of the line stuff. The replacement parts, mainly CF pannels are the ones you want. heres an example: http://www.americanhydrocarbon.com/I...=0&si0=0&si1=0 Its not the top-of-the-line but it looks A LOT better than the stick on ones.

Stick-ons are cheap, but are a good mod to do if the cash is low. But if you are really looking to upgrade your interior, save up for the replacement parts and install them, they look a lot more formal and "stock" looking.

But like Stang-a Holic says it is better than the stick ons. And you're paying 900 for the full interior, which means every conceivable piece. You think that's steep? I'm only looking for a few select pieces, not a whole set. Also looking for chrome, not wood or carbon fiber. Any suggestions on good sources?

The place i mentioned will sell you the pieces that you want, if i were to get only the pieces i wanted it would run me 300, not bad!

*sorry i dont think they sell chrome, the only way to get that is with a stick on manufacturer.*

If you intend on buying an interior dash kit that is appealing, buy the real stuff and not the fake stuff like that hydro carbon finishing stuff...its only painted like its real....real carbon fiber will reflect the sunlight differently from the variant angles of the fibers....a top of the line carbon fiber interior kit that is a stick on is the roush kit for example...supurb looks..only problem with the roush kit is that its %350 - $400....here is a pic of my cf kit off of ebay...it cost me $110...gl!
