Best thing to get rid of daily dust and pollen is to put a cap full of Optimum No Rinse in a bucket of water. Two microfiber towels, one wet one wipe dry.

I have the California Duster but it gets dirty quick and leaves a greasy residue.

I used to use a Kosak Auto Dry Wash Cloth. Then I started using the California duster on my white Intrepid. It worked great but when I started using it on the black Mustang it also had the greasy spot like you mention. I still use it but I am careful to lightly glide it over the car and then I go over it with Meguiar's Quik Detailer to get that off.

I use the California Duster on my black stang and yes if your press hard it will leave a greasy residue, but if your just lightly drag it across the surface to pick up the dust then I don't have problems with it. Other cheap imitations of the California Duster don't even come close.... they don't pick up the dust like the California Duster does.

Here is a description of the Optimum No Rinse or ONR. http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-no-rinse.html

I use it on my car and I love it. No hose needed. Juztang, a member here, sells it from his store www.wetobsessions.com. I think he also offers a discount if you tell him you are a mustangforums.com member.

Thanks to all. I will give the optimum a try or maybe a 250 mph leaf blower.

Thanks again.

I know a lot of people swear by the California Car Duster, but out here the dust the car picks up is mostly soot from diesel trucks and old cars, and that doesn't come off easily.

So, if it's something small like a handprint I use Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer and a microfiber cloth.

For anything bigger, Water and a two bucket method or it stays dirty until I have the time to wash it properly.

I too have used the California duster for years. Use it like a feather duster and dust is gone.
