Cool RAM AIR HOODS

I searched and searched on here but didn't find anything on hoods other than which ones people liked. I'm wanting to know if they are worth the money as far as power goes. Do they really add power? I was wanting to change my hood out but to save money it's going to come down to if it's worth it or not, besides looks.

Get the hood that is most aesthetically pleasing to you. For ram air to be effective, you have to be able to drive the car much faster than it is capable of going. The only real bennefit any of the ram air hoods have is to provide a little bit more cold air to the intake.

Well cool thanks for the input. I might just do something original and keep my stock hood on there. Everyone seems to be taking the hoods off. Well to each there own I guess.

look on the RKSport website, they have two different ram air hoods. I have one of them, and they are great, keeps constant cold air flow, right to your intake. As far as adding a few horse...I wouldn't doubt it... If you decide to go with one, call and ask for Frank. Tell him I suggested it to you, may cut u a break on shipping or something.

Cool thanks dolint95. I was looking at that same hood you have. Really digging the paint scheme you got going there. I hope to start doing my exterior stuff by the end of the year. Thanks also for the possible hook up to on the hood.

I have the ram air hood and kit. If your going for HP over looks then I dont think the hood is gonna fall into that Realm. It is much more a LOOK that we are going for then the actual boost in HP. by the way there are even choices beyond style for hoods like weight, material, fit and finish all of which effect your cars scheme.
good luck with your decision.

I like that California Dream Ram-Air Hood! Anybody know the weight of the stock hood?

I bought my RamAir hood for the looks. As I recall Cervini has a kit to make it functional but it is for the stock air box and intake so not sure what you pick up if anything over going with an aftermarket CAI with no Ram Air.

It does kind of get in the way when you are trying to see where the heck you are going. I am tall it isnt to bad but it is still a big bump in front of your face.

Hootna sweet ride, like the look. I think if I go with a ram air style hood it will be mostly for looks and moving air through the engine bay better.

How is the quality of the hood? That is the one I"m planning on getting and was wondering what your painter said about the finish and quality.

Thanks for the input.
