That makes sense, but two things 1- I love the motto "To punish and enslave", I don't know how the heck you get away with that one. I know either the Civil Liberties Union would sue your *** around here, or some minority group would be up in arms. 2- I don't know how you can travel from one municipality to another and not have a problem. Say you are in Dallas, and you go to Houston, one would have a problem that you are in their town and aren't a real cop in their town. Maybe it's all much easier where you are. Being in CA, the most litigious state in the union, all these questions automatically come to mind. I know no municipality would be that cool around here. That being said, I'm glad you can pull it off.

My certification is with the State. There is no violation.
I am not using the car to stop people or AS A POLICE CAR.
Why would somebody sue me? Because I have something that says "...to punish and enslave"?
I see kids with worse t-shirts on display. That is no violation.
This is not a Police Departments car. It is a movie prop. The only issue is the POLICE on it....but that is no issue because there is no impersonation. I am the police.
I cleared it through my dept, city legal, the DA's office and even the state police.
The only violation could be a city ordinance of some kind. Cities can enact legislation that says whatever they want (ie- no loitering or curfew violations etc) but they would only be punishable by fine. Sooo if some cty says its illegal in their jurisdiction to have a black and white car then I would be in violation. Seriously though.....I dont see one cop writing up another for a class C violation - punishable by fine only for driving a movie prop. The bar lights are not operated on the streets. There is NO enforcement done with the car. It is not used when I am on duty.
I have been stopped once. The officer was a constable and he was embarassed that eh stopped me when he discovered what it was and who I was.
Its really not a big deal. Your overthinking it. **BUT** I think I will steer clear of California. That state is full of coconuts.
I dont see Policemen jacking up this guy:
lol
Seriously though.....so what if traffic slows down around me and people behave. Thats a good thing. It reminds people to pay attention, confuses those who have no idea and elates those who recognise. Its actually quite cool.
Im having a blast. You should see what Im doing to it next....but thats a few weeks away. lol
PS- The real plus is my wife cant drive it. ha haaa

Dude very awesome conversion! I always wanted to do that to my GT, especially loving the front bars (dunno what they're called). Can't wait to see what else you do with it.
Cameras coming out of the headlights!?!?

Dude, remember what I said at the end, I'm on your side. I'm glad you can have such a cool car to drive around. Here is CA yea, we all live in fear of litigation for one thing or another and the cops can pull you over for any stupid reason they want. As far as regulations, I heard on the news the other day that in the past 30 years CA has created over 30,000 new laws and regulations. A vast majority of them being completely idiotic, and just meant to oppress the people and businesses in this state. Just to show you what asses most cops around here are. Many years ago I got pulled over for speeding (5 miles over the speed limit) and I had one of those cop license plate frames (KMH 956 or whatever the call letters are) I think you know which ones I mean. I was nice to the cop and everything and mentioned my girlfriend worked for the PD. He thought that was nice, and handed me the ticket. Now if I was brown and illegal I would get escorted to the local sanctuary. They have sanctuary cities here in case you didn't know. So yea, I think it's a good idea staying away from CA unless you can handle visiting "Opposite World". Leave whatever rules you know about reality at the state line, cause they just don't apply here. They are so paranoid about police impersonation here that it is illegal for anyone to have a light bar on their vehicle unless they are an emergency vehicle. Only state emergency vehicles are allowed to use Red or Blue colors on their light bars, all others must be yellow. Also you can not have a bug deflector or anything such thing on your vehicle that is red or blue that may confuse people into thinking it is a light bar. Also, the kids that use blue lights under their cars or on their license plates can get ticketed for that. You starting to see why it surprised me when I saw your car? But, I should have known Texas would be way cooler than here. After all it is called the "People's Republic of California."

Some people do just that when Im behind them. I can see the passangers roll down there window and chastise the driver.
I prefer not to be a quote in a sigline....I know I dont have control over that so Im just asking. Thanks.
