Mr. Clean thing only works if you have soft water already.

Utterly worthless with hard water. I've had 2 of them, and yeah they are awesome like I said with soft water.

a good soft towel is easier IMO

The Mr. Clean Autodry works fine using the 'ol water hose down here in Texas.
Not about how bad the water is or is not here.

BTW. I would NOT use a regular soft towel to dry the car. (Such as a regular soft laundry towel)
You are asking for scratches.

I only wash my car in the early morning or afternoon, when the sun is not beating down on the car.

I use the 2 bucket method when washing. When finished washing I use a high powered leaf blower and blow the car completely dry (works good getting water out of those hidden areas). When I finish with the leaf blower, I usually go back over the car very carefully with a damp microfiber tower & a dry one making sure that I didn't leave any water spots.

I wish I had a leaf blower, I towel dry but haven't used my Mr. Clean on it yet. Worked wonders for the other cars though. Our water is nasty and in one wash you can see the filter change colors. But the wash is better than just using a bucket.
