Default 2010 Pony? Won't fit...

Just so you guys know, the 2010 grille pony doesn't fit the 05-09's... lol. Someone probably could have told me this before I bought it but I took the risk. It looks awesome but it will not fit in the old pony emblem spot. So now I have to figure something out to get it on the car in a way where it looks OEM.

Any ideas?

The 05 grille has a recessed edge all the way around for the horsey to fit in right?
Like it shows in your avatar
Could you enlarge it with a dremel tool?
I'm sure there is a way but I don't have a visual of the 2 horses to think of something definite...

yeah I would say just shave down the plastic outline on the grill like pascal said then use 3M tape or something to attach it.

I know the shape can't be too far off.
Maybe it's the difference in size that causes the problem...

Does anyone make a black chrome pony for the 2005-2009 Mustangs?

The shape is not far off at all but its just far enough to not fit. The 2010 is a lil bit longer. I was thinking about cutting down the lip on the grille that surrounds the emblem but I would mess it up somehow. I would like it to look as clean as possible, not all cut or scuffed up... Here is the 2010 compared to my old broken pony emblem...

i REALLY like that black chrome. It would look awesome on my alloy. Oops... And sorry that it won't fit.

Makes sense now.
I suspected the new one to be longer.
Maybe the grille recess could be filled or a spacer bracket be made so the 010 pony would overlap everything.

Maybe too much work for what it is after all...

It would make a nice paper weight...
