We have two clients that ditched their OEM HID Ford lamps in favor of the halogen stockers and our HID kits and reported a favorable improvement. We are of the understanding the Ford HID lamps are poor performers for lighting.

i have put HID's in projector lights before and no issue.. alot of them say that because they dont want you to put Hid's in there because of how bright they become. But it is a 50/50% chance it could melt but from the many iv done i have yet to see any melt.

I've decided to ditch the the Projectors and Angel eye fogs. I'm going to put on brand new oem stock replacements and throw some 8000k hid babys in there. I will check out retrosolutions for a kit....

Thanks again for the insight. I will post pics soon!

If you want more light, consider coming down to a 5000/5500K bulb. Beyond this point you start moving out toward the edge of the visible spectrum, and are actually losing light. If you absolutely MUST have a blueish tint, stick with a 6000K bulb.

+1

I have the 6000K kit from retro solutions and have the stock headlamp assembly.
I am not 100% on this but I believe you get a better light output if you have a projector style housing. I have heard that the oem housing (not projector) spreads the light out way too much. I have been flashed numerous times by oncoming drivers. I would like to see/know the difference between the stock housing with 6K HID kit and a projector kit with the 6K hid kit.

EDIT:
I also have a retor solutions 8K HID kit on my daily driver which does have projector style housings and have only been flashed one time from an oncoming driver. Also, i do think that the light is dispersed better with the projector style housing.

I was browsing the HID kits on the website and I'm very interested, however I'm not sure which 55 watt kit to order. All I can say is I would be having the kit installed in Factory OEM 2006 Mustang GT headlights and I want the best quality brightest kit. I'm looking for bright white lights, so i believe that would be 8000k. Please help...

Thanks,

8000K is going to be bright obnoxious blue, not white at all. Here's a bit of a rough reference picture. Most of these bulbs will be coated, and this chart is about a half step off what you're likely to see in actual effect.

Like I said, for white you want about 5500K. 6000K will give you a touch of blue. Anything higher than that and you get more and more obnoxious and actually lose usable light.
