Default Tinted tailights

I'm thinking about tinting my tail lights but I'm debating on whether to take it in to a professional or just buy the spray for around 10 bucks and do it myself. Any feedback from people who've tinted their tail lights themselves would be greatly appreciated.

I have wanted to do this also. You can get that NightShades stuff. Someone on here did it with great results. I am debating it too..

Going the professional route is really best case scenario because if it's done right you're still going to get close to if not the same amount of light coming through and they have a great, even shine to them. But on the other hand the VHT Nightshade is pretty easy to work with and as long as you're even with the coats it should come out fine and you shouldn't dampen the light too much. Here's a pic of my car after 2 coats of VHT with clearcoat applied after each coat:

Is there a way to get them "gloss" those look more flat. Or it could be the pic??

More clear coat would do the trick. I have actually added some since that pick and it does help. Getting them painted will give you the most gloss though. Just make sure to re-scuff then wipe before each coat

If you know how to paint it's easy. Just take your time #1 Rule.

Im new on here and i just got my GT this past winter, i have done both the side marker lights and the tail lights, i used 1500 grit sand paper and took my time to get them good and clean to prevent fisheyes. The best advice is to lay the lights next to eachother and spray both at the same time passing over both. this will help with an even coat. i wouldnt recomend doing more then 1 coat. i just did one with mine and they look great and havent gotten bothered by the cops either.

Ahh that looks so good. Thats about exactly what im lookin for except id like the reverse light to be blacked out as well. What kind of paint did you use? That sounds like a great price because i called a tinting shop in my area and they charge 120 for the tint spray.
