also instead of zip ties i riveted it together
i used the zip-ties to hold the wiring harness to the NEW bumper, instead of the clips. I used pop-rivets to hold the bracket w/ the 4 studs to the NEW bumper.

i got it painted for $100 by a neighbor

thanks for all the comments.

That looks nice on your car. Great write-up. Good to know about the GT/CS and Shelby bumper.

Great write up!!!

However I don't think I would have disconnected my battery and have to reprogram the radio eq, stations and clock. Any reason you did it?

Hell J, we could have taken those pictures ourselves when we did yours...
You were standing there.

And where did you stick this at?

Boozshey, unless you run 110 in your car, you don't need to disconnect the battery for unplugging electrical connectors.
Some people have a habit to undo said battery for anything they'll do to their car.
Makes them feel better.
You sure don't need to for replacing a bumper...

OP, I never separate the harness from its plastic support...
I disconnect the plug inside the trunk and feed it through the tail panel with the grommet
Everything comes off in one shot, including the harness.
I then separate the bracket from the bumper by drilling the rivets etc...but with the harness still attached to the bracket.

In no case at all, do I separate the harness from its support unless either one is messed up due to a wreck.
Makes things a lot easier...

Also, the factory paints over the texture on the CS bumper (on the front bumper as well)...
No need to sand it smooth unless you're after that look.

Yeah I was wondering why he didn't just drill the rivets and leave everything attached to the support and just transfere it over...

But I was tired when I was reading this....

Ill note disconnecting the battery as optional, i didnt, but most people do.

when i bought the kit it came with the support and everything already, so i just used the new one. Also i used it because i think the old one was a little messed up when i bumped into a jeep, so the new one was probably a little bit more strait.

im running 285/45-18 rear and they are a perfect fit inside the fenders.
