Default Auto Headlamps

Has anybody added the auto headlamp option to their car. I noticed the 2010 already has the optical sensor for the dash and permiter lights, for when you unlock the car at night. Is this as simple as adding the different dash switch with the auto setting?
Thanks
Tony

I think from 2007 on up they all came with the perimeter lighting. On my 09 when I click the door open button on the Fob, all my lights come on. I really don't see a reason or a need for the light sensor on the dash unless the lights come on automatically at night. Is that what they do? Someone told me it was an auto dimming feature which I think is idiotic since you would have that adjusted to your personal preference with the dimmer. If you still have to turn the lights on, then what's the point?

The light sensors determine when your headlights need to come on, while you are driving or when you get in the car.

I want the auto headlights to come on at night, and go off during the day without me having to remember to turn the switch.

It's pretty simple... if you're driving down a road and you can't see 5 feet in front of you, it's night time... turn your head lights on!

...why do people make these comments? Just wondering...

I want auto lights 'cause I never have to worry about turning them off, and don't have to listen to a chime to tell me to turn them off. It's such a great feature, and would like to know if there's a switch that works on 05-09's. The dash in the 2nd gen S197's is different and they all have the sensor already installed, just not all have the switch.
