Saleen Supershaker w/stock hood AND GT500 front, why hasn't anybody?
This combination does not seem to exist anywheres, except in my wishful thinking. Have spent hours looking at popular mustang sites and although I admit I'm far from an internet expert, I thought I would find something. The ONLY comment I could find was from a member here who suggested the stock hood was too flat in combination with the shaker and gt500 front. I realize there are other aftermarket hoods that may look better, however I have yet to see any pics to make that comparison. New member here, though long time lurker, proud owner of a new to me 07 GT coupe, black with black interior. Would like to add the performance and functionality of the Saleen with the appearance of the GT500, save $$ if possible w/o changing the hood. Have thoroughly enjoyed this forum for several months, much appreciate all the members helpful information and admired their cars. FWIW I also own a 71 Torino Cobra, 429 4-speed, with the shaker option. Regrettably I may have to sacrifice that in order to do the planned mods on the Mustang. Oh well, can't have it all. Thanks for any help, advice or pics you can provide.
Welcome to the site!
If I'm reading your question correctly: you want to do a GT500 front end conversion and add a Saleen SuperShaker, all while keep the rest as is?
My guess why you haven't seen that combo yet is because I don't think its possible. Not the SuperShaker bit but the body work doesn't jive. The GT500 front end won't fit with a stock GT hood. That was what you were asking, I hope....

I feel suitably chastened by members helpful comments, didn't realize that the GT500 conversion required different hood, bummer, guess I should have researched that, pretty obvious now that it has been explained to me. Just trying to minimize expense, will try to avoid wasting readers time in future posts.
I think you're talking about the GT500 hood on a GT, that's where you have to trick a couple of things up to close it properly.
For the record, the Foose hood uses the OEM brace, so as far as the engine bay is concerned, it's the stock hood.

Apparently we're both wasting Pascal's time, though....
As stated, you can use the stock GT hood on a GT500 front fascia.
The Foose hood like PASCAL has is basically the same foot-print as the GT hood so it also will work with the GT500 front fascia.
You can use a GT500 hood on a GT front fascia BUT it requires work to do it.
Try listening to what was stated. You were wrong and the info was corrected. try not to get your panties bunched over it...

We were all noobs once.
Here's a picture of the GT500 front with the stock hood...
One of many conversions I did.
I say it fits.
So because Pascal corrects your incorrect statement about not be able to use the stock hood you feel he is wasting your time?? If anything he just saved the OP money by NOT having to buy another hood based on your bad advice.

I go to your section and have to justify your correct posts as well, lol.
What's going on lately?
OP, you don't waste my time as the infos that is put out benefit other people as well.
Try to look at the post count of the members here, someone that is active like myself is more likely to provide the infos you need.
Then some of us work on these cars for a living, add that as a +.
