Default Trunk Liner

After I got the car back from the body shop, the right side of the trunk wall liner won't sit flush. How do I get it back in place? It seems slightly warped.

I think those things are made out of cardboard. You may just need to push it back and see if it stays. If that doesn't work just pull the edges and see if it's pinched somewhere. Sometimes if the front or side gets kinked up the rest of it wont sit right.

glue might help you out. I was planning on redoing my whole trunk. You can buy a roll of carpet from fleabay and a can of glue and go to town .. I've seen some people do it here on the forums. Might want to do it and that would sole your issue too. But all in all, spray some glue on there. it will hold it

If I went to town with a can of glue, I'd be stuck in the trunk with the carpet!! lol

J/K

What kind of glue is recommended? I'm thinking when they took the carpeting out, it must of got bent and now it won't push back into position.

If they removed it they should replace it the way it came.

That is true. I got a list of things I need to b*tch at the shop about.

The very edge fits behind the side panel plastic trim.
You can see it on the picture.
Same thing with the floor liner, it supposed to fit under the back seat.
I would use velcro on those trunk liners for extra fastening...

Mine has always been like that..... going to use your idea though Pascal! (However, using glue does give the car that fresh from the factory smell!! Seeing that is what a new car smell is.... Glue and paint! )

lol, not only does it give you the new car smell, you can get the buzz off of it

When duct tape fails, velcro to the rescue!!! I should try that. Asking for the body shop nubs to fix it is asking for more headaches.

That has always been my experience. I'm sure this doesn't apply to Pascal's shop, but every body shop I have dealt with has left something undone, or screwed up something else, or what have you. It's a shame you can't just pay your money and walk out satisfied that they did their job correctly.

Alkemist, I am certain Pascal's idea will fix your problem, but if you decide to use glue on anything, get a couple of cheap plastic clamps to hold it in place till it dries. I wouldn't want you passing out from fumes in your trunk. Just think what the neighbors will say if they see you passed out, half way hanging out of your trunk.
