Default Does anyone have the AVN726E From Eclipse?

Hey guys,

Searching around on Crutchfield and I found a DVD/Navigation that I liked. Crutchfield and many other sites were giving it high reviews, but now Eclipse is getting out of the US market and no longer selling anything, so I managed to buy the unit right before they stopped selling them.

Now, it's waiting at home and I can't do anything about that... but. I just wanted to know if you guys have it, like it, etc? I can't find much on it via google, I stumbled upon a couple pages and people were saying some bad things about it. That it loses signal a lot, and some other audio customization stuff that I really don't care about.. etc.

So if any of you have it, or know someone who has it.. did I make a mistake?

I bought the AVN726E on Crutchfield last week when I noticed the lowered price.

Received on Wednesday and was in yesterday. I can honestly say I am more than happy with the unit overall. The Navigation is fantastic, the sound is great, it looks great in the dash...bluetooth built in, you name it I like it. I ended up having a shop install it for mainly because I didn't want to wait to put it in, then spend a day tweaking, etc...

iPod interface is good. Better than other units I have read about. It is a little clunky in that you cannot scroll through artists/songs like on the iPod itself. But you can access everything from playlists and all, so that is nice. I did not opt for the dedicated iPod cable from Eclipse, just the one that came with the unit itself. So no video, but the sound quality is excellent, and the iPod charges even though the documents I read said it would not.

I spoke with Crutchfield and my Installer about the unit and Eclipse. Both had excellent things to say. Eclipse is going out of the aftermarket segment, but their parent company Fujitsu Ten will be producing high end units for Toyota and Lexus moving forward. They will still honor the full warranty on the AVN726E. There is also a map scheduled update I read about for March. So I am pleased! Let me know your experience once you get it in.

Hey, thanks a lot. Kinda putting me at ease. I don't have an Ipod so I don't really care about that kinda thing... I heard the map updates are expensive through eclipse?
