In regards to the SHR louvers for 2010+, does the back interior trim pieces truly need to be filed down? I really like the flush look, however i am really hesitant about doing this type of work to my GT, especially since I still only have 1000 miles on it.

I noticed that 2005-2009 don't have to worry about it. Can anyone with a 2010 tell me any different?

2010+ require the trimming. Its in the instructions you get when they ship to you. Here is the verbage and the link to the PDF (Page 6 is what your talking about).

Installation Guide

"18. The interior panels will now need to be trimmed to clear the part of the louver that goes into
the vehicle interior prior to re-installation. To accomplish this, mark the 4 pieces as shown in the
accompanying photos using marker or tape, and using a fine-tooth hacksaw or other cutting tool,
trim the edges back flush to their respective surfaces so that the vents will clear the interior
opening. After trimming, clean up any rough or sharp edges and test for proper fit. Louvers will
just barely contact interior trim pieces, if the interior pieces are trying to “push” the louver out,
additional trimming may be required. See images and captions below.

 

Yeah, that's what i read. Just wondering if any 2010 owners have installed them without cutting the interior trim pieces. Funny how, 2005-2009 didn't need to do this. I'm assuming interior dimensions must have changed.

 

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on these for my 10. Not looking forward to having to trim the interior pieces but what the hell. These things are the s3x!

Anyone ordered these from CJ PonyParts as opposed to direct from SHR? It appears that SHR does not sell the '10 pre-painted ones in my color (Candy Red) whereas CJPP does.

I'd prefer to order direct from SHR but it appears I can't at this time.
