ok so i am dying to know, i even went to a paint supply shop and they where stumped. i saw a forum member on here that had his fire blanket in his engine bay painted red... what do you use for this? i was thinking just regular cloth paint but would that fade. and then i thought high temp... but i dont think that will work, does anyone know...? it would be great to here from the gentle man that did this to his whit mustang and painted his red.... thanks to all guys
I believe the member you are thinking of is project85, you might wanna send him a PM. Otherwise I say just do what the other people did and remove the fire blanket

thanks , i would pull it off but i have vinyl stripes, and with the heat produced without that thing there.... i am afraid that my stripes will bubble
I pulled my sound insulation (has nothing to do with fire by the way) last year. I have a supercharger and vinyl stripes on my hood and haven't had any problems with it for the vinyl.
The ones on the Cobra's are black and mine had some white spots from moisture and I just wanted it black again... used flat black paint and it looks new again. If I wanted to change the color I'd paint it white untill no black could be seen then paint it the color you wanted.
