Black billet antenna delete from UPR only $15... I don't use my radio anymore... just my XM so I wasn't too worried about the reception and was getting tired of replacing the 8'' that I bought

Yep, I'm in the cut it myself camp. Seemed silly to me to spend the money when I could just cut mine to the exact length I wanted.

This is the 14" antenna from AM. I prefer this one over the 8"

Another one to consider is sold by CJ Pony.

I have 14" ers on both Stangs. IMO, the 8" looks a bit odd. Also, there was a minor loss in reception in rural areas on FM going from the the buggy whip to the 14" although I, too, listen to satellite about 99% of the time. I'd expect additional loss with the 8". But if you're not traveling more than 50-75 miles out-of-town on a frequent basis, it won't make much if any difference in reception.

I cut mine at 10". Works great. Denver radio stations 60 miles away. no problems.

The only time I use the FM stations is to listen to my iPod (adapter plays through FM station) and the rest is satellite. So I'm not too worried about reception since most of the time I'm listening to satellite, I just want to get rid of my flag pole..

When I traded my 05 I stripped all my parts off, including the 8" from AM. When I took it out, the threads were rusted all to hell. The 5 year old stocker looked brand new, and the 7 month old 8" looked BAD.

Starting to lose faith in some of AM's products, at least the lower end appearance stuff. I had two magnetic blackout panels from AM and both of them bubbled badly. I realize that stuff is not high dollar parts, but come on.
