Which shorty antenna?

This is the 14" antenna from AM. I prefer this one over the 8"
Another one to consider is sold by CJ Pony.

I have 14" ers on both Stangs. IMO, the 8" looks a bit odd. Also, there was a minor loss in reception in rural areas on FM going from the the buggy whip to the 14" although I, too, listen to satellite about 99% of the time. I'd expect additional loss with the 8". But if you're not traveling more than 50-75 miles out-of-town on a frequent basis, it won't make much if any difference in reception.

I agree - just grab a hacksaw and cut your antenna down. I cut mine to 13". I didn't bother removing and trying to reinstall the ball top. I went to the local hobby store and bought some of the rubber antenna tips used for radio control cars and planes - I think I paid $0.50 for 5 of them.

When I traded my 05 I stripped all my parts off, including the 8" from AM. When I took it out, the threads were rusted all to hell. The 5 year old stocker looked brand new, and the 7 month old 8" looked BAD.
Starting to lose faith in some of AM's products, at least the lower end appearance stuff. I had two magnetic blackout panels from AM and both of them bubbled badly. I realize that stuff is not high dollar parts, but come on.
