Default 2005 Mustang. Moleskin or new weather stripping?

Plan on getting tint in a couple weeks. I have a 2005 which has the crappy weather stripping. Which is the best plan? Install moleskin, or the new, non-scratch weather stripping?

Update. Decided on new weather stripping instead of moleskin. $57 shipped from newfordparts.com

Part numbers 8R3Z-6321456-A & 8R3Z-6321457-A

Update #2

Alright, got my new weather stripping in. It is SOOOOOOOOO much better.

Whole operation took about 15 minutes, but could easily be done in 5 now that I know what to do.

Here's a pic showing new and old. Old has ZERO felt on it, new feels awesome. Way softer/less abrasive than any velcro.

Hard to tell in the pic due to the reflection, but the top is the old one. It sucks.

great question as I am looking to tint soon and would like to hear feedback on this as well. The weatherstrips are around $65 to purchase from MustangsUnlimited.

I read tocabills write up on installing the moleskin. I'm sure he did more than he needed to since he's so great on detail, but I didn't feel like doing all the prep work he did.

I went ahead and ordered the new weather strips from newfordparts.com for $57 shipped.

You made the right call ... the 2008+ weather strip/inner door belt are much higher quality than the DIY moleskins. The dealer applied felt was beginning to put streaks on my car's tint from the adhesive on the edge of the felt. I had them replaced with the 2008+ strips and had no problems since.

+1, I've had my tints since 06 and they look horrific. Once I get the new weather stripping soon I am going to get them re-done!

i went with the moleskin on my 06. the write up does make it look a bit time consuming, but its not hard to do at all. took me about 20 minutes to install on both doors.
